Urogynecology Committee Pre-Congress Workshop

Abstract

This pre-congress workshop revisits the fundamental principles underpinning modern urogynaecology practice. Through focused lectures and structured hands-on training, participants will consolidate their understanding of pelvic anatomy, prolapse surgery, and lower urinary tract assessment.

The program integrates didactic sessions with practical surgical demonstrations across three rotating skills stations, providing participants with direct exposure to core vaginal procedures and basic cystourethroscopy techniques.

Learning objectives

Participants will:

  • Review the anatomy of the pelvis, pelvic floor, and lower urinary tract.
  • Understand the basic surgical principles of prolapse surgery.
  • Understand the indications for and techniques of vaginal prolapse surgery.
  • Understand the indications for and techniques of endoscopic assessment of the lower urinary tract.

Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, Urogynaecologists, Fellows, Residents and Trainees seeking to strengthen their foundational knowledge and surgical skills in pelvic organ prolapse and lower urinary tract evaluation.
