Workshops & Sessions
This year at AOFOG 2026, there will be extensive CPD opportunities, including pre-Congress workshops, hands-on sessions, discussions, and simulation-based learning.
Topics will span fetal surveillance, reproductive medicine, OASI, ultrasound, and urogynaecology. Trainees and early-career specialists can take advantage of dedicated sessions focused on education, skills development, and career progression.
Starting at $250 inc GST | Monday 12 October | Sydney, NSW
Persistent Pelvic Pain
1.25pm-3.20pm
Tuesday 12 October
This session will focus on the complex and often multifactorial nature of persistent pelvic pain, highlighting multidisciplinary approaches to care and system-level considerations in service delivery.
Topics include models for integrated, multidisciplinary management, insights and challenges from establishing dedicated pelvic pain clinics, and emerging strategies for diagnosis and treatment. The session will conclude with a debate exploring the relative benefits of surgical versus non-invasive approaches to pain management.
Advances in Ultrasound in Women's Health
1.25pm-3.20pm
Tuesday 12 October
This session will highlight recent advances in ultrasound technology and its expanding role in the diagnosis and management of obstetric and gynaecological conditions.
Topics will include innovations in imaging techniques, the use of handheld devices and remote teaching models in low-resource settings such as Fiji, and the importance of ultrasound as a core diagnostic skill in everyday clinical presentations. A focused presentation will also explore how ultrasound is enhancing the diagnosis of conditions such as endometriosis, improving both accuracy and patient experience. All speakers will participate in a Q&A panel at the end of the session.
Birth Trauma
1.05pm-3.10pm
Thursday 15 October
This session aims to examine how maternal morbidity and mortality are monitored and addressed at a global and local level, and to explore opportunities for meaningful system change.
We hope to highlight strategies for monitoring outcomes, address inequities experienced by Indigenous populations, and share approaches for creating frameworks that enable learning and improvement. Insights from the Consultative Council on Obstetric and Paediatric Mortality and Morbidity will also be presented.

“Our theme for this Congress is “Equivolution: Equity and Sustainability in Women’s Health”. This theme will guide our discussions and shape our vision for the future. We will focus not only on environmental sustainability, which is a growing concern for many of our Pacific Island neighbours, but also on the sustainability of our workforce and communities.”

The Asia & Oceania Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (AOFOG) Congress is a major biennial event bringing together clinicians, researchers, and healthcare professionals from across the region.
“
Often for our members, if you work in private practice or even within your hospital, or in your state of practice, it can feel quite siloed and restricted on creating new networks, professional connections and uncovering new learning opportunities and innovations across clinical approaches and technological revolutions in women’s health. Being involved in international Congresses such as AOFOG has given me the possibility to connect with other specialists and women’s health professionals not just from within Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, but from around the entire Asia and Oceania region. My experience from attending previous AOFOG events has brought home to me that few challenges are totally unique, and the AOFOG Congress expanded my professional networks and approaches to healthcare.

“
Attending the AOFOG Congress in 2024 broadened my professional connections and friendships beyond Australia and New Zealand. I established relationships that have been meaningful and long-lasting, enhancing my clinical knowledge and expertise. Exposure to new ways of thinking, communicating, and problem solving, and connecting with colleagues in our part of the world has been refreshing. It’s expanded my world.
Attending an AOFOG Congress is an opportunity to explore new innovations in technology, pharmaceuticals, medical innovation, and different ways of practising clinical medicine. It offers the opportunity to learn from each other, appreciate cultural differences and to approach women’s health in a broader context, as well as meeting new friends and colleagues in a stimulating, warm and welcoming environment.

“
I enjoy the opportunity to attend the AOFOG Congress as it provides an opportunity to expand my professional network and develop lasting professional friendships across the Asia and Oceania region. Being able to connect with colleagues from such a diverse range of countries and learn about innovations in women’s health is one of the main reasons I keep returning. Since attending the previous AOFOG Congress, I have been able to apply technologies and ideas I discovered there to further my research projects in Australia. Every healthcare system approaches challenges a little differently, and there is always something innovative to learn from colleagues throughout the region.
