PVOGS AOFOG Laparoscopic Skills Workshop

Session outline

This face-to-face PVOGS ANZ workshop is structured into a morning session and an afternoon session, with participants attending either the morning or the afternoon. Each session will combine both an engaging presentation and a more hands-on skills component.

Each session will then continue to the more practical component. This will be split into ‘Basic Laparoscopic Skills’ and ‘Advanced Laparoscopic Skills’. The session will develop participants’ laparoscopic gynaecology skills through a series of interactive exercises. Participants will be supported in each step of the practical component by our knowledgeable and experienced demonstrators.

In particular, addressing the gap between finishing medical school and starting specialist training. This session will target pre-vocational medical students and junior doctors with an interest in this field – and in particular, in laparoscopic surgical skills. Our objectives involve ensuring ongoing learning, providing educational opportunities for our members/RANZCOG delegates and to spark curiosity in the surgical opportunities that are associated with women’s health.
