Dr. dr. Syarief Thaufik Hidayat, Sp.OG, Subsp.FER, M.Si.GC, D.MAS is an obstetrician and gynaecologist with a subspecialty in reproductive endocrinology, which deals with fertility problems or disorders of the female reproductive system. He currently practices at Dr Kariadi Central General Hospital, Hermina Pandanaran Hospital, Semarang Medical Center Telogorejo Hospital.
He has decades of experience treating infertility, including IVF. He also specializes in minimally invasive surgery, including laparoscopy for cyst and fibroids removal, as well as hysteroscopy of the uterine cavity.
He graduated in General Medicine from Diponegoro University, Semarang in 1990, followed by a residency in Gynaecology from Diponegoro University, Semarang in 1998. He then completed the Consultant Programme in Reproductive Endocrinology Infertility (KFER) at the University of Indonesia in 2006 and Genetic Counselling at Diponegoro University in 2009. He completed his PhD at the Faculty of Medicine, Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta.
