Dr Shelly Makleff (Australia)

Shelly Makleff (she/her) is a McKenzie Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health (University of Melbourne). Her current projects seek to reduce abortion stigma in the Australian health system to improve quality of care and ensure equitable access. Shelly is an applied researcher with experience working in non-governmental, public sector, and academic roles to collaboratively generate evidence to inform policy, practice, and health services around the world. Her expertise spans sexual and reproductive health, stigma, quality of care, gender-based violence prevention, gender-transformative programs, and qualitative approaches to evaluate social programs.
