Dr. Mario Philip R Festin is retired professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of the Philippines Manila. He was formerly the Vice Chancellor for Research of the university, and past Executive Director of the UP Manila National Institutes of Health. He is the founding director of the NIH Institute of Reproductive Health and the founding chair of the Department of Clinical Epidemiology in the College of Medicine. He worked as Coordinator and Medical Officer at the Department of Reproductive Health and Research at the World Health Organization in Geneva Switzerland. He was past president of the Philippine Society of Maternal and Fetal Medicine.
