Dr Sara Ng is a clinical and laboratory haematologist with subspecialty interests in Thrombosis & Haemostasis. She is the current Director of Thrombosis and Haemostasis at the South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD). She is committed to medical education and is a Senior Conjoint Lecturer at the University of New South Wales and serves as the Director of Haematology Advanced Training for SWSLHD.
Reflecting her leadership in the field, Dr Ng is the co-chair of the ISTH Scientific Subcommittee on Thrombosis & Antithrombotic Therapies, a council member of the HOW Collaborative, and an active member of the ITPANZ Medical Advisory Board. Her research and clinical interests focus on venous thromboembolism (VTE), cancer-associated thrombosis, the clinical complexities of ITP, and women’s health in haematology.
Dr Ng earned her medical degree from the University of Sydney and completed a specialized fellowship in adult thrombosis in Ottawa, Canada. Her work is driven by a commitment to advancing haemostasis research and delivering exceptional, patient-centred care.
