Prof. Farhana Dewan is a distinguished Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with extensive experience in clinical care, medical education, research, and global health initiatives. She holds MBBS, FCPS, and FMAS (India) qualifications and currently serves as Chairman of OGSB Hospital & IRCH and Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Ibn Sina Medical College. She is the Immediate Past President of the Obstetrical & Gynaecological Society of Bangladesh (OGSB) and Secretary General of the South Asian Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (SAFOG).
Prof. Farhana Dewan has played significant leadership roles in several FIGO projects in Bangladesh, including Health Workforce Strengthening, LDI, PPH Bundle, and PPIUD initiatives. She is also Secretary General of the Bangladesh Chapter of Organization Gestosis and Organizing Secretary of the Endometriosis-Adenomyosis Society of Bangladesh. She has previously served as Professor at CMCH, ShSMCH, and SSMC. Her contributions have been recognized with the FIGO Women’s Awards 2025 and Global Health Reformer – MS Signature Awards 2024.
