Ms Karen Binning (Australia)

Karen Binning specialises in Doctors’ wellbeing at King Edward Memorial Hospital in Perth. She has introduced quick, mini mindfulness practices that doctors can incorporate amidst a busy day and facilitates condensed mindfulness courses.

Karen studied at the Oxford University Mindfulness Centre, becoming an accredited workplace mindfulness facilitator. Karen also trained with the Mindfulness Training Institute of Australasia in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction.

Karen has an organisational development background and was Curtin University’s Strengthening our Culture Project Manager, incorporating mindfulness and wellbeing into leadership and systems.

Karen guest lectures in mindfulness and wellbeing for the University of Notre Dame’s “Wellbeing Fundamentals for Success” course. She was the mindfulness practitioner in the Australian Sports Psychologists’ wellbeing project for first responders and Olympic athletes. Karen was a member of the inaugural International Mindfulness in Defence Symposium for frontline defence personnel, working closely with neuroscientists.
