Dr Pedro Melo is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Subspecialist in
Reproductive Medicine at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and a Senior Clinical Researcher in Women’s and Reproductive Health at the University of Oxford. He is also the Clinical Lead at Tommy’s National Centre for Miscarriage Research in Oxford. He holds a PhD in Reproductive Medicine from the University of Birmingham
and a Master’s in Clinical Embryology from Oxford.
Pedro’s research focuses on assisted reproduction, luteal dysfunction and pregnancy loss. He is the national clinical coordinator for the LOCI randomised trial and an editor with the Cochrane Gynaecology and Fertility Group.
In recognition of his contributions to women’s health, he received
the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists’ Florence and
William Blair Bell Research Fellowship in 2023 and the British Fertility Society Young Clinician Award in 2022. A frequent invited speaker at national and international conferences, Pedro serves as a Teaching
Associate at Green Templeton College, Oxford.
