Dr Shih-Ern Yao is a gynaecological oncologist based in Melbourne, Victoria.
Originally from Perth, Western Australia, he graduated from the University of Western Australia and commenced specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology in 2010. This took him from Perth to Melbourne and then onto the Queensland Centre for Gynaecological Cancer in Brisbane and The Royal Marsden NHS Trust in London to complete his subspecialist training in oncology surgery.
He is currently the deputy lead in gynaeoncology at Monash Health and an Adjunct Senior Lecturer position at Monash University. He is delighted to be Gynaecological Oncology Representative at the 2026 AOFOG Congress, hosted by RANZCOG, where he has been involved in subspecialty governance at RANZCOG for the past 5 years.
