Dr Malitha Patabendige is a Senior Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at St John of God Midland Public Hospital, Western Australia, and is currently completing the RANZCOG SIMG requirements. He is also a Postdoctoral Adjunct Research Fellow in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia.
Prior to moving to Australia, he worked as a Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with the Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka. Dr Patabendige holds a PhD in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Monash University and is a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG), UK. He is also an Associate Editor of the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ANZJOG).
His research interests include induction of labour, postpartum haemorrhage and evidence synthesis. He has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications.
