Our Commitment to a Sustainable Future
Sustainability is a vital mission for conferences in the modern world to heal the planet and empower ethical leaders. Our sustainability initiatives focus on reducing waste, conserving energy, and supporting local communities. Through responsible sourcing and innovative practices, we aim to minimize our carbon footprint and promote sustainable growth.
The AOFOG 2026 is making every effort to reduce the carbon footprint and ensure sustainability practices are being followed where possible:
Name Badges
Our badges are printed on recycled plastics. We can support with this process again, by placing your name badge at the conclusion of the event in the specially named bins at the registration and expo exit.
Lanyards
Our lanyards are made from recycled materials, they can be recycled again by placing in the marked bins on your final departure from AOFOG 26, or take it with you and wear it proudly at your next event. Should you have a Sunflower lanyard, we welcome you to wear this to encourage awareness and support.
Congress App
Our Meeting App contains all the information you require for a fantastic onsite experience, the program, our sponsors, exhibition floor plan, venue floor plan and services. Our app enables delegates to interact with each other and build digital business card details – just scan each others personal QR. This will replace any printed copies available at AOFOG 2026.
Travel
If you’re traveling to AOFOG 2026 via plane, we appreciate your efforts to reduce your carbon footprint. Many airlines have a simple way for you to offset CO2 when you book your flight.
Exhibition Build
We are proud to partner with Exponet as our exhibition building, who hold a ISO 20121 certification, all products used to display are reused or recycled sometime in just days. We strongly encourage all our exhibitors to minimise single use products and use sustainable products within the display.
Sustainable & Inclusive Venue
ICC Sydney holds a 6 star green rating. With initiatives such as no plastic water bottles and providing clearly labelled waste bins for easy recycling. ICC Sydney also supports inclusion & diversity with ensuring the attendee experience meets and supports individual needs.
Water Bottles
We strongly encourage the use of your own water bottle during AOFOG 2026. Water dispensers are available throughout the venue, making it easy to refill bottles of all shapes and sizes. For those without a water bottle, bamboo recycles cups are available.
Coffee Cups
Feel free to bring your own coffee cup, the venue staff will happily make a coffee in your reusable cup from the café to the exhibition hall, coffee will be available. Venue cups are available, please remember to place in the correctly marked bin to recycle.
Hotels
Many hotels across Sydney have sustainable initiatives from keyless entry to rooms, ice and water stations available across the hotel, reuseable water bottles by the bed. As you check in to your hotel, check what options are available to you to support a greener stay.
