Abstract

The OASI Workshop is a comprehensive, hands-on training program designed to enhance clinicians’ knowledge and practical skills in the management of Obstetric Anal Sphincter Injuries. Delivered through a combination of focused lectures and supervised surgical practice, the workshop provides participants with up-to-date, evidence-based guidance on anatomy, classification, prevention strategies, intrapartum care, surgical repair techniques, and postnatal management.

Participants will benefit from an interactive learning environment, including a dedicated practical skills station where they will gain confidence in identifying and repairing obstetric anal injuries using animal models under expert guidance. Led by an experienced multidisciplinary faculty, the workshop emphasizes real-world application, clinical decision-making, and skill refinement.

Ideal for healthcare professionals involved in maternity care, this program supports improved patient outcomes through enhanced competence in managing perineal trauma. The workshop also contributes to Continuing Professional Development, offering 3 hours of outcome measurement and additional educational activity time.
