All travellers (except Australian and New Zealand citizens) must have a valid visa before TRAVELLING to Australia and apply for your visa at least 6-8 weeks prior to commencement of your travel. Delegates applying for a visa are able to lodge an application online and can use the Department of Home Affairs’ interactive online visa finder tool to see what visa options will suit their individual needs: Explore visa options (homeaffairs.gov.au).

- Register to attend
Once you have registered and paid you will receive an acknowledgement letter that you can use with your visa application.
- Apply for a visa at the Department of Home Affairs at least 6-8 weeks prior to your departure.

At a minimum, you should apply for your visa six weeks before your arrival date in Australia. We encourage delegates to apply as early as possible.

When should I apply for my Visa?
The Australian Department of Home Affairs recommends all travellers requiring a visa apply at least six to eight weeks prior to your departure to Australia.

Visa Invitation Letters
Visa invitation letters are automatically generated on completion and payment of your AOFOG 2026 registration.
As delegate passport information will be passed on to the Australian Department of Home Affairs as confirmation of attendance, we are unable to support delegates who have not completed payment first.
Visa Application Statuses
We, as the congress organisers, are unable to provide updates on the status of your visa application – this is strictly the role of the Australian Department of Home Affairs.
Additionally, we are also unable to impact or alter the outcomes of visa applications. You will need to contact the department of Home Affairs directly for an update on this information.
Visa Refusals
We are unable to support with your visa refusal from the Australian government – should you cancel your registration, the registration cancellation policy applies. Proof of refusal will be required, and all refunds will be processed post-congress.
